In the funding project ‘EXIST IV -Gründungskultur – Die Gründerhochschule’, various measures were taken at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfenbüttel and the Technical University of Braunschweig to establish an academic start-up culture.
The fundamental aim was the extensive expansion of already existing start-up processes through innovative measures in the area of entrepreneurship and start-up assistance in order to achieve a significant increase in the number of start-ups.
The establishment of an idea incubator at both university locations, systematic idea screening and the strengthening of the role of promoters have made a significant contribution to increasing the number of start-ups by university staff and successfully generating concrete start-up projects. Start-ups from both universities were individually mentored, networked and supported in their projects.
The close collaboration of both universities as cooperation partners and the joint start-up professorship resulted in numerous synergy effects, so that the topic of entrepreneurship could be anchored far-reaching and sustainably beyond the university boundaries and in interaction with various partners of the entire region. Thanks to the extensive funding in the project “EXIST IV -Gründungskultur – Die Gründerhochschule”, both universities were given the opportunity to expand and consolidate existing structures. The results of this project are decisive components on the way to becoming a university for start-ups and thus a valuable foundation for successful start-up work at both universities and in the region.
